Hi,

I need some new bellows for my technikardan, I can get the Chinese copies on fleabay but they need attaching to the old plastic frames – just wondering how easy this is to do? I've read up on the forum that Pliobond is the stuff to use to do the sticking, but is it straight forward to get it stuck on?

Thanks

Straightforward surely not (even dangerous so) as the glue acts immediately when the parts are attached (after the necessary time to get the glue dryish on them). Thus you must glue one side after the other - that is easy with at least 2 sides but more difficult with those remaining ones. But it is not impossible - I have glued many bellows to their frames with this kind of glue. You just must be careful and think about how to. Still there is a possibility that doing it for the first time you can screw up the bellows... :)

Thanks for the warning GPS! So the Pliobond is a type of contact adhesive - I see. I can see how it's not easy to glue the last side if you do it a side at a time.

You just have to hold the parts away from each other (somehow :) ) before you allow them to contact each other. Better is to make first 2 parts in the right angle and then the other two at once. Not impossible but prayers help... :)

Sounds like a job for an able handed assistant (the holding parts apart, not the praying!)

Only an experience can say... ;)
