Any suggestions for negative and/or chrome development in the Boston area? I'm in Somerville, not that it matters that much.

Thanks!

dorian color lab in arlington, on mill street ( between mass ave and summer )

if you are in west meffid
go down mystic valley parkway when you get to summer left on mill and they will be on your right ...

from the other side ... medford/hillside/paris (davis square)
go up broadway past teele square to rt 16 to mass ave, right on mill, they are on the left ...

i've never used dorian (all the labs i used when i was in boston closed down) ...
i've only heard great things about them ...

Also Color Services in Needham, but Dorian is probably more convenient for you.

I a 35mm roll to Dorian once and it came back with a water stain running the entire length of the roll. That's my only experience with them but it wasn't good.

I used Color Services in Needham for many years for 35 mm. They were very consistent. No problems.

I went through a phase not long ago of shooting a lot of 35mm color neg for a couple of years, and used Color Services. The results were decent overall, but every few rolls I'd lose a frame or two to some gunk that landed on the film during processing. Not a catastrophe, but definitely an irritation, and not up to the standard implied by the high-end art-photography accounts they serve.

If you're not going to visit the lab in person - Color Services in Needham is going to be 30-40 minutes each way from Somerville, assuming you avoid rush hour - you might as well consider mail order outside of Boston too.

how about
spectrum or colortek ...

they are by south station ( or were by south station )
and at one time were both very busy ... i never had trouble with either.
