Scanning Anomaly? Please help..?

I can't seem to work out what these are. They look like two half ellipse type shapes. They do not appear on the negative by naked eye and they have showed up in exactly the same place for a couple of different scanned transparencies. They don't seem to appear on BW negatives. I would really like to get rid of them.. Any help or clues what there are or could be and how to eliminate them?

what are you scanning with? Wet/dry mount? Looks on appearance to be transparency rather than colour negative ? velvia

I had some weird artifacts which turned out to be on the scanner glass itself, but wonder if your ellipse artifacts are lens related.

I have been working with him directly and I think it he was experiencing some flare/reflections.

Dough seems to be correct. I have to investigate some more.
