O.K. I have mastered ( ) the V700, bought into Better Scanning, etc., but still looking for the "real thing" in terms of resolution. For that special 4x5, are there recommendations for commercial drum scanning in Canada?

You could contact Bob Carnie, here on the forum.
I think either he does drum scans or knows who does.

I Fedex my film to drumscanning.com in NYC when I need drum scans. (I'm in Toronto). I haven't found someone local that can beat his prices and I'm very happy with the quality. I'd be interested to know who else there in Canada that is comparable, though.

We are not selling scans at this moment unless they are printed by us, We use the appropriate scanner to match the job.
We do archive work for artists, but we do so at low rez with no dust busting. This is very popular for photographers to get a handle on their collections.
We do plan to have a complete Scan Service available from flat bed, to Drum Scan for various budgets but are not accepting work as yet.

CastorScan, probably one of the very best scan services in the world, but it's located in Italy, not Canada

I just had them do a stack of scans for me and I'm very happy with the results.
