Hi,

I'm thinking of buying a Shen Hao 45 camera which gets good review from folks he re. Does anyone have any experience shipping it directly from Shangai, China? Is the seller reliable? Do they ship item immediately upon receiving payment? Also , since they have so many models, which 45 model is recommended? Do I go for chr ome or brass? I'm on a budget and basic features are alright with me.

I bought directly from China. Perry Wang, the contact for Shen Hao, was very helpful and the order was delivered without problem. All of our communication, with the exception of actual payment, was done by e-mail. There was a couple days delay in response to e-mail, at times, so patience is required. The 4x5 cameras came in two models when I bought mine. The CJ and HZX. The only practical difference, according to their brochure, was that the HZX had rear rise in addition to the other movements. The CJ comes in various grades of finish but if money is an issue the most basic model will be the cheapest by a fair amount. From what I've heard whatever the metal finish is it'll look a little rough so I'm not sure there will be any practical difference among them. Good luck and let me know how you fare. Russell

I also bought the shen hao camera direct from China. Contact Perry Wong. He is the contact person there. However, be aware that there is usually a few days delay in e-mail response from them. I chose the 45hzxII They are very reliable.
