Xtol 1:1 with Efke 25 for 5 min rotary in jobo 3010 comes out soft and dense. How can I gain lots of accutance? Dilute xtol more and develop longer? Any suggestions? (I only have the rotary option for development at the moment).

Excess density can degrade sharpness, and is usually a result of over exposure. Efke 25 doesn't tolerate over exposure very well. For optimum acutance you want the thinnest negative consistent with adequate shadow detail. I think this is more important than the dilution of your developer, or the method of agitation. Good luck!

I've used Efke 25 and xtol 1+1 quite often and it yields a very sharp negative. If high acutance is what you are after, then try something like Rodinol.
