What's the best way to photograph print projects such as a magazine cover or poster without resorting or even involving scanners and computers in any way at all (not talking about physical drawing materials just print)?

I heard the wide angle, and rail-way cameras can take sharp shots of wide detail. Know anything else? Whats best for taking pics of things for example that can be posters/book covers/cards in a way that covers all the range, details and flat tone but strictly works best for non-digital printing.
