hi everyone
i have access to an imacon at work for my large prints, but i wanted to have a cheaper scanner at home to scan all my 4x5, in addition to my 120mm and 35mm films, mainly for having a digital archive. (those frames which i need in high quality for large prints, i will scan with the imacon or a drum scanner outside)
basically i want a scanner that can scan a whole 35mm film (6 strips of 6 frames) at one take, as in a 35mm contact print. it should be comfortable/easy/fast to scan these 35mm strips, as i have lots of them.
of course i will be very happy to have the best quality i can get and be able to use these scans maybe for small prints or screen resolution. i'm looking for something cheaper than the V700, so let's say a budget of around 200-300 Euro, if you think that's possible (if not, i'll increase the budget).

will be very happy for any recommendations,
Thanks,
Tal

You can take a look at the HP-G4050. The scanner is slow when you select the higher scan settings but it is able to scan all the formats you are looking to scan.

I would search for a used Epson 4990 instead of an HP if the v700 is out of your price range. So many people are disappointed with HP scanners.

I believe an Epson 3200 will work. Although they are a couple of generations behind the latest Epson scanner, they still do good work and can be found fairly cheap on the used market.

I second the hp-g4050. I have a had it for a few years and it works fine for "contact sheets" and to get a general sense of an image

An Epson 4870 is pretty cheap these days, it will scan 4x5 film and 8x10 prints.
