View Full Version : light box?
Anyone have a recommendation for a brand/type of light box. I'm looking for something to view 4x5 size transparencies with, perhaps a few at a time for comparison purposes. I tried searching the archives but couldn't really find much info. Maybe that means it's not a big deal and any old brand will do?
Thanks!

I would say that almost any old brand will do. I think this is a good deal and I have an older, similar model. Gets the job done:

The Just brand is supposed to be very good but the price is steep. I bought a Hkuba also that works well and is much smaller/thinner than the other one but it has a big transformer plug instead of a regular cord.

Look on craigslist for xray viewers or illuminators often being sold for a song. You can replace the bulbs, if needed, with proper viewing temp bulbs.

Gepe Pro and Kaiser have good boxes.
Thanks for the suggestions. Guess I'll start with an inexpensive Porta Trace model and move up from there if it's not adequate
