I have an older 305 G-Claron. It's currently in a Universal No. 3 shutter but, I think the shutter is way too slow. I'm considering getting it CLA's (Aside from Flutot's, where else do you get your shutter's cleaned?) or replacing it with a different kind.

It doesn't fit in a Copal 1 like some of the newer lenses. With that, what other shutter types work with these older lenses? Does the fact that it is of Dagor design matter?

thanx in advance,

Joe P.

Any camera repair person can repair or install a shutter. But since your lens may not have a standard sized mounting thread an adapter for the shutter may need to be made so ask the repair person if they can also machine an adapter, if required. Cleaning and repairing and replacing shutters is very basic work for a camera repair technician.

I have used these guys in Chicago a few times and have been 100% satisfied each time. Great communications, fast turn-around, decent prices.
He has done work on Compur and Copal shutters, CLA on lenses, rangefinder adjustment and later repair (after I dropped the camera!).

For faster turnaround, if you don't mind a little more money, I just had a CLA on one by SK Grimes. Took about a week not counting shipping, and about $100.
