I have a Deardorff 8x10 and I usually shoot wide open on a 240mm f5.6 Schneider lens. One issue I have is getting sharp focus. My ground glass (I'm not sure if it's original) has a rather rough grain and even with a loupe it is hit or miss if the final image is in focus. I want to get a ground glass with a grid anyway so can anyone recommend one thats good for fine focusing? What are Fresnals like? Will any 8x10 fit my Deardorff?
Thanks. K
Try Steve Hopf (http://www.hopfglass.com/). Some have also had great results by regrinding their original ground-glass.

Try Steve Hopf. I own his gg in my two 8x10 cameras, as well as various 5x7 and 4x5s.

I third the recommendation for Steve Hopf.
Re-grind it with some #600 grit Silicon Carbide powder, drawing a new grid is easy :D
I also have (or had) Steve Hopf glass and would recommend it if you don't want to grind your own.
