I've read that if you have a 90mm lens on a 4x5 **with no tilting/shifting of the lens** then your corner cutoff should be be minimal. I'm losing about 20 percent of my entire frame. My lens looks old-ish, it's a "Wollensak 90mm f/3.5 Raptar" Is it a print enlarger lens? Any help would be appreciated. In particular, is there any suggestion for a lens that wouldn't cut my corners off (so drastically?) Oh yes, I'm using a Toyo/Omega 45E monorail. Thanks.

I'm not familiar with that lens. However...
It might cover only 6x9, and not 4x5; or it might be an enlarger lens, in which case it would cover 6x7 adequately.
Google it and see what you find re: image circle.
Others here might know right away which lens it is and to what it is best suited, but it doesn't sound like a 4x5 lens, and certainly doesn't act like one either.

An f/3.5 lens is not a wide angle lens.

You need a wide angle lens to use 90mm focal length on 4x5".

Perhaps the least expensive and most readily available 90mm lens for 4x5 is the Wollensak f/6.8 Raptar. Unlike many newer lenses, Wollensak recommends that it be stopped down to f/22 for best sharpness.
