I am going to be in Olympia on business for a few days this week. I'll have a little time for shooting in the late afternoon/evenings. Any suggestions on where I should go?

Thanks in advance!

Nisqually Wildlife Refuge is not a far drive from Olympia. You will get a lot of confused looks from DSLR bird photographers setting up a LF camera there, but it's a nice place to walk a bit and look for shots. In town there is a walk that goes around Capitol Lake that gives some nice views of the Capitol and the old Brewery building. If you have more time than you expect you could hit the Lake Cushman area of Olympic National Park. The sun goes down very late right now here so you mine as while think big..

Not sure how things are down at Paradise at Mount Rainier, but that's not too terribly far away either. I would consider taking that in around sunset (though the sun sets pretty far north right now) - still, it's a beautiful spot.
