Just got my 4x5 in the mail today, lending an air of legitimacy to my hobby of light-thievery. I have a question regarding the lens board...

It is, to my measurement, 1.625", or 41.275mm in diameter. Is this a standard that I can expect to find on many lenses? Or am I taking this into work and drilling her out?

Looking for a 135mm or so lens.

It's a Copal 1 so any lens in that shutter will fit.
Don't go drill happy 'til you find a lens.
There is a list of hole sizes at SKGrimes site

Yes, yes, a list exists elsewhere...but I appreciate the help. Time to go 'stimulate the economy'...

In case you don't already know: the retaining ring often has a shoulder which matches the lensboard hole, centering the lens without having the male threads bearing directly on the board.

I think that the nominal "standard" hole is now 42mm, matching the Copal shutter retaining ring. Over the years, I've made a couple or three spacer rings to fill in the gap when the retaining ring didn't have the shoulder--otherwise, it is really hard to get the lens to stay in place.
