Hey I am seriously considering buying this but need some opinions on it.
Rodenstock 360mm f/6.8 Apo-Sironar-S Lens

I have been use a Rodenstock 240mm 5.6 sironar-N and am not happy with the colour fringing during high contrast shots, as alot of my work in in the snow, also I am getting back into 8x10 so I want something longer.
Because of this colour fringing I am thinking the old 360mm Sironar_N wil have the same problem????
It will be used on an Arca Swiss F-line.
I am looking for one second hand but have been unable to find one so I may have to buy new, so I really want to make the right decision.
I was also looking at the Schneider but it seems to not have the ED glass to help with this fringing.
Any advice?????

Hi Rohan,

I have this lens. It is large and heavy. I use it on my 8x10, and occasionally my 5x7, cameras. I am an amateur photographer and not sure that I would notice color fringing as I shoot landscapes almost exclusively. However, I have not noticed any obvious color fringing with the images that I have shot.

Hope this helps.

Namaste
Daniel

Hi Daniel ,
thanks for your input, just a quick question, do you have the 360mm Apo Sironar-N or Sironar-S?
kind regards
