Ernemann Ernon 18cm f/3.5 in barrel.

So far online I've only seen these in focus mounts for strut cameras, never in a regular barrel like the one on its way to me.

Does anybody out there have some diagrams or production info on the lens please? Is it a Tessar?

Hoping to unscrew the elements and botch it onto the Copal 3s.

Lots in VM!

An advanced Tessar type.

Hoping it will be sharp with a nice out of focus area wide open.

Any chance of a lens diagram please Steven?

I *still* don't have a copy of the Vade Mecum.

Wide open with flash off ceiling.

The lens cells unscrewed and fit almost perfectly into the Copal 3s. With a bit of tape for pressure fit at the front the lens was happily in place. The aperture scale is accurate for the lens and after a lighter-fluid-cla the shutter has close-to-correct speeds.

Happy.

And so you should be, Ash. Very nice rendering that old Ernon gives! These old objectives have so much *character*. Have fun with it!

Hey Ash did you try shooting with this lens some more outdoor shots? Especially some Portrait shots in the nature... would love to see how it works with out of focus areas, swirls & so on...
Did you manage, in mean time, to found out more about it's construction and so on...
