Hello all,

I'm an experienced 35mm shooter who was just given a Graflex Super Graphic by a neighbor. I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, or even what all the parts are. I'm not convinced yet that I'm going to shoot this thing, but am interested in checking it out.

I'm looking for a Graflex Super Graphic user in San Diego who'd be willing to show me how to use it (and help figure out if it even works!). It appears to be in good shape and has lots of accessories, but... it's all unknown to me.

If you're in (near) San Diego and know these things, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks!

John

Can't help you in person. I'm in Colorado.

Take a look at http://graflex.org/ and at http://www.butkus.org/chinon/super_speed/super_speed.htm

The first link has a lot of Graphic info including some on the super. The second link has the manuals for the super.

You might also want to look at some of the general large format tutorial stuff at the main site associated with this forum.

Those are cool cameras. I'm sort of looking for one, but not actively. I had one briefly, but it had pinholes in the bellows and went back to the seller.

They can be fun to use, but you'll also understand why Leicas and Nikons were invented.

Good luck!

Where in San Diego are you? Do you already have 4x5 film holders?

Camera Exposure on Adams Ave. may have super graphic parts (lens boards, cams).

Ex-employees of Graflex were known to frequent the place, back in the day.
