View Full Version : Epson 4990 scan area - 10 x 6.25?!

Hi, all -

When using the 8x10 mask on my new-ish 4990, I'm finding (using VueScan) that the actual scan area is 6.25" x 10". Any ideas on what gives? I'm guessing there's some setting somewhere in VueScan that's wrong...

Thanks,
Scott

Have you tried EpsonScan software to know if it will scan 8x10?

Have you selected "full area" ?

If "full area" isn't a wording choice, I know that on EpsonScan with the newer scanners you must select "film with film area guide" (not film holder).

Okay, I got it. In VueScan, I had the mode set as "Transparency", where it should have been set to "Transparency 8x10". That fixed it in VueScan. As for Epson Scan, well, I've never used it because it was always a pop-up that said "Full Auto Mode". No preview, no settings, just scan to file. Somehow I toggled that off just now, and can scan the full area. So that's now an option.

Thanks for the help, guys.

Epson Scan is all I have used with my 1680. It works.
