Hi all,

I see there are other Maryland folk here!

I've been reading the forum for about a year or so, on and off, and I've been impressed by the quality of the discussion. Many times I've searched the forums and found thoughtful answers to problems that are universal to photography, without the background noise that permeates the usual gear sites. (Which is itself remarkable, since in a certain sense, this is a site devoted to gear!)

I like Large Format photography, though I do not yet have a kit, and in fact, I'm using smaller formats to rebuild my skills from using a wet darkroom in college years ago.

Right now I primarily shoot a Yashica TLR with Tmax 400 (tmy-2), and infrequently a Nikon FG, and scan or send out for scans.

I'm considering using x-ray film cut down to 4x5 to get some practice in (I've been following those threads), and getting a modest kit - an inexpensive monorail, a single lens, and a handful of film holders. Right now, of course, I seem to have more time to read about photography than practice it.

Welcome to the forum from a fellow Maryland based LF shooter. I am relatively new to the forum as well, but I have found the info and community invaluable.

Welcome to group therapy! There are many good buys around on monorail cameras these days...everybody seems to want "field cameras", keeping the competition light for the 'rails; good for those of us who like the cameras with the most movements! Look closely at the Cambos and the Calumets...always good buys available! :)
