Tiffen Ultra Contrast filters? Your experiences, opinions and comments?

Has anyone used or can comment on the Tiffen Ultra contrast filters? I am thinking they could be useful in compressing the dynamic range for slide film?

Be careful with the Ultra Cons. Depending on the ambient light, the effect will change. A LoCon is more consistent as long as it isn't directly flared.

And they will lift the blacks, thereby "compressing" the dynamic range. If you do this, you get the added feature of rating your film slower to drop the black level down to an acceptable range, also lowering your highlights.
