Use to use until rendered useless (twice sent wrong type and incorrectly labelled): Light Impressions (was good back in Rochester days though). So, what is your source (inexpensive preferred) for Museum Archival quality 4-ply mat board (bright or warm white)? I need 18x22 and 24x30 size. I can cut the windows myself and would also trim 18x24 or 20x24 if cheaper to buy. Thank you for your help! Oh in Canada or at least not too far from Toronto would be nice! :)

24 4-ply 16 x 28 @$6.36 = $152.64
24 8-ply 16 x 28 @ $13.85 = $332.40

These are the prices quoted to me by Michael Smith and his mat/framing and archival supply company Lodima Achival Materials, http://www.lodima.org/ They'll cut it to any size you need.

He sent me a sample of each color. I ended up ordering 24 each of 4-ply and 8-ply at 16x20 -- arrived in very good condition and as advertised.

The mat they sell is called Artcare, which can also be ordered in full sheets (32x40) from the company that makes it: http://www.conservationresources.com/Main/section_16/section16_01.htm

If you had use for 8x10 (or even 10x12) pieces, full sheets would work for you -- otherwise the 10x40 piece left over from the two 18x22 pieces is a lot off waste. And even more waste cutting a 24x30 piece (8x40 and 10x24 pieces left over).
