Can anyone suggest development times for Chinastera ERA B/W 4x5 film? I cannot find any recommendations here or elsewhere. I need an "N" development time, 70F, rotary processed, in either Rodinal, HC-110, or D-76.

What is an "N" development time?

Have you looked here (http://www.chinastera.com/English/ERA1/English_product4.htm#Development%20&%20Processing)?

Generally, try about 15% less development time for rotary.

Like with all film, testing will be needed to maximise results...

Lachlan, thanks for the link.

Leigh, "N" stands for normal development, as opposed to N+ or N- development times to increase or decrease contrast, respectively.

Yes, I know that. When I was teaching commercial photography I showed my students how to calibrate the process to achieve that level of control.

I've just never heard anyone ask for an "N" development time, since nobody can give you any other time, like N-2 or N+1.

But I've only been doing this for 56 years, so I have a lot to learn.

If it is the ERA 100, I just treat it like FP4+.
