I've been trying to figure out what kind of kamera and lenses I want now for a couple of weeks. Since I want to shoot both 6x17 and 4x5 and don't want to cameras I've been thinking of the Shen Hao 5x7 with 4x5 reducing back and a 6x17 rollfilmback. The hard part is choosing lenses, but I thing I've made up my mind:

Nikon Nikkor SW 90/4.5

Schneider Symmar-S 150/5.6

Schneider Symmar-S 210/5.6

How about this? I need versatility. I'm going to shoot landscape-panoramas, portraits, urban landscapes. Does this sound allright or would you think differently?

I use a Canham MQC 5x7 camera with a 4x5 reducing back and a Canham 6x17 roll film back.

My lens choices that can be used for all three formats are: Nikon/Nikkor f8 120SW, f5.6 180W, f5.6 240W and f9 300M.

The lens focal lengths you have selected are okay for 4x5, but are spaced too close together for the 5x7 format.

The Nikon/Nikkor f8 90SW can cover 5x7, but with limited movements

Allright, thanks. I'm not mainly going to shoot 5x7 but it's allways nice to have the opportunity. The nikon nikkor 180/240/300 all seems quite cheap but the 120 is very expensive, is there another option for wideangle?

The Schneider f8 120 Super Angulon also covers 5x7.

However, I'm not sure if it is less expensive than the Nikon.

The 6x17 format requires image circles almost as large as 5x7.

See the comparison charts on the home page of this website.

If you plan on shooting at night, the faster lenses you selected are good.
