The Vade Mecum suggests that it might be a whole-plate lens. This site (http://www.historiccamera.com/cgi-bin/librarium/pm.cgi?action=display&login=thorntonpickard) seems to imply it might cover anything between a quarter-plate and an 8x12 depending on the focal length of the lens. They call it a "double rectilinear" lens which I'm thinking means a Rapid Rectilinear style design - probably f/8 at fastest.
