View Full Version : Home build 4x5
My home build 4x5 field camera constructed from Mahogany and naval brass. It took a few weeks to make with work and one thing and another. I installed springed bearing on the front standards to lock it in zero position and took great care in it's design and build. I wanted it to have a very fluid look with clean lines, for me it's look was just as important as function.
It looks wonderful-
beautifully made-
I'm sure I commented on this elsewhere, quite a while ago?

What a beautiful camera . Makes me breathless , what you have created here .
I would not dare shooting with her . (a camera is a she , where I live)
What kind of bellow will you get for her ? ? ?
Surely a leather bellow . Thanks for posting the images . They make the day for me a good day . Congratulations .
Best regards . Jürgen

Thanks very much, I would have loved red leather bellows but I couldn't find a maker so I've decided to go for black silk bellows.

A beautiful piece of work! I envy your skills. The fact that you accomplished it in a few weeks is unbelievable to someone such as myself.

Your camera is beautifully made--at least as nice as anything else on the market. It's boggling to think it only took you a few weeks. One question--do you accept commissions?

Wow, what a brass wonder! Now that is what I'd call "steampunk!"
