I want to take a try at developing some Tri-X at home. I have Ilford (DDX) chemicals that I've used for 35mm. I'd rather not buy Kodak chemicals since I still have all the Ilford juice.

I checked the Mass Dev Chart and for Tri-X using Ilford chemicals, it lists development times only for ISO 200 or 400, not 320. I shoot my film at the rated 320.

Should I just split the difference in development times between those listed for 200 and 320?

My searches (Google and APUG) suggest this is the method, but I'd like the input and experience of fellow LF folks.

Thanks

Ilford's own data would be better, and yes split the difference if they list times for 200 & 400. It's on the data=sheets for DDX

Yes, the film is mentioned on Ilford's data sheet, but only for EI 200, 400, 800, 1600.

But thank you, Ian, because your post prompted me to go back to the data sheet and I'd forgotten that Ilford is kind enough to list it developer with other films. Kodak, however, does not list alternative developers for use with its films.

Bob, those times are likely for TX roll film, not TXP sheet film. The emulsions are different.

Are you developing sheet film? If so how? In a tray? As Oren stated, the times are most likely for roll film. Time for testing.

I'm doing 4x5 sheets. The info on Mass Dev chart appears to be specific to sheets.
