i am thinking about trying 4x10 format. Can 4x10 film be processed in a jobo 3010 or 3005 drum?

I use the 3005. Doubt if the film would fit in a 3010.

3005.

You can probably also do them in a 2-Series drum, but not having any 4x10 lying around, I cannot test how well these fit. You'll need to use the internal ribs to hold the film in place.

I use the 3005. They will NOT fit in the 3010 - I have tried :-)

Does the 3005 drum need to be modified? How are the sheets oriented in the dorm?

No modification needed to the 3005. I usually develop 1 sheet per hole (5 total) at a time. I insert each sheet the logn way, the 10" length parallel to the axis of the tank if that makes sense.

I created a plastic insert for each hole in the 3005 that indexes to the grooves that run down each side of the hole. Using this I develop ten 4x10 sheets at a time. The plastic insert design took some fiddling and several prototypes due to the bowed outward shape of the hole. When I had the shape correct, I made 4 more duplicates and then I cut away as much material from the center of the custom divider as I could so flow of chemicals wasnt impeded during developing. The system has been working great for several hundred sheets so far with no problems.

Eric,

Would it be possible if you could show us a picture of what you're referring too? I've re-read your description 4x's now, but I'm still scratching my head .

thanks
