Here's the Ilford release:

I wonder a little, since it's not glossy. But, Ilford multigrade glossies are excellent, so having high quality matte surface will probably be a nice complement to their offerings.

It had better be available here in Canada!

I can't wait for this paper! Any idea when it'll be here in the US?

In a post on APUG i think i read that it will first be released in England sometime in April.
Maybe May here in the US don't know but i will certainly give it a try.

Yea, I heard it'll be out in the UK in April but I haven't heard a solid date for a US release yet. If it is as solid as the rest of the Ilford product line it'll be wonderful to have a full matte paper as an option.

Years ago, I tested Kodak Polycontrast IV RC when it first came out, which had a non-glossy surface that I thought was very nice. Not really a matte, but not glossy, either.

The paper tested fantastically, too, and in my admittedly subjective rankings came in near the top, just below Ilford Galerie and Forte Polycontrast V, blowing away my predispositions against RC (sorry, Fred Picker, but as you used to say, I tried it). I would have been thrilled to use it as a proofing paper and for students to learn on. Sadly, it disappeared into the Yellow Mist.

Maybe that's good karma for the new Ilford offering. Hope so.

I tested the paper in December , side by side comparisons to Ilford Warmtone .
I really liked the paper , its response was very much like IWT just a tad slower.
Toned exactly like I expected , I believe it is IWT emulsion.
The paper is a bit thicker and flattens nicely when air dried.
The texture is very nice, I seem to remember the texture of Agfa fine grain matte being more to my liking.
It will be a popular paper IMHO.
I was only given 30 sheets to test and in my darkroom that dosen't go far, I solarized it and was very pleased and will use it for my Heavy Metal Series.
