What was that I just saw in the Hyundai commercial?? Looked like a Korona 8x10 with ratty looking bellows!?

I think it was more the size of a 5x7 or full plate. I believe you are correct that it is a Korona.

I noticed it too, I thought it was an 8x10 but it was shown so quickly I couldn't tell what brand.

See attached.
Hyundai Super Bowl Commercials (http://www.hyundaisuperbowl.com/), "Anarchronistic Guy"
Click on the "next" link, I think it's the third one in the series.

Hey! That commercial suggests that our cameras are (gasp) obsolete.

Looks like a Korona or something similar

That guy could see the image on the ground glass in broad daylight with no problem and he was shooting a moving object coming directly at him!! What am I doing wrong??

"Hey! That commercial suggests that our cameras are..... obsolete."

No, flash powder is obsolete.

5X7. Ebay fresh.

Did Hyundai just call me an anachronism?

The line "What if we always settled for the first thing that came along?" made me laugh.
I don't imagine anyone on this forum "settled" for a view camera-ha!

I'm so behind the times, I didn't even know what "anarchronistic" meant. I thought it was a simple misspelling at first. What would I do without Urban Dictionary?...

I think the UD came up with that definition to coincide with the ad.
I guess we should all feel free to make up any kind of nonsense and pass it off as the real deal :)

I'm pretty sure that "anachronistic" was mispelled on the Hyundai site. Merriam-Webster didn't have it, but Urban Dictionary defined it in 2007.

Considering the date on the UD entry is 2007, that would make it truly anarchronistic!

I think....

You mean misspelled? ;)

Sorry, couldn't resist.

I wonder if now that they are done with the commercial that they might sell it to me? The camera, not the car of course.

Looks more like an Eastman with its pendulum level missing. 5x7 seems about right.

That's another reason why Subaru is better than Hyundai. Subaru advertises that Foresters are good for transporting large format cameras.

I thought that Datsun was the one with the large format cameras. Or maybe it just had AA's Hasselblad in it.

Last year the one of the Doritos commercial used press cameras too!
