Who can tell me the difference between these two lense?
and which one has a better image quality?
Now I have a W 300,but my camera orbit is only 400mm. The range of adjustment is very small. Do I need change it to T 300? thanks!!!:)

The Fujinon 300W is a large heavy lens mounted in a Copal 3 shutter. It is a plasmat design and will easily cover 8X10. Needs 300mm of bellows to focus at infinity.
The Fujinon 300T is a telephoto design. Lighter weight and smaller image circle. Focuses at infinity at less than 300mm. That's the advantage of a telephoto.
Having owned both of these lenses, the 300W is sharper, brighter, and easier to focus.
However, it's a heck of a big lens to use on a 4x5 Orbit.
Take a look at the Fujinon 300C or Nikon/Nikkor 300M.

thanks!
there are two choices for me now.
1.change an longer orbit. for example 700mm
2.sell the W 300 and buy a T 300.
it seems that T 300 is more expensive than W 300.

I found that my Schneider Tele Xenar 270mm, although sharp, did not have as large a range of movements as its non telephoto equivalent. I am told that it is an attribute of the telephoto design.

spend the extra dough, and get a Fujinon-C("compact"=C) 300mm.
in a copal 1 shutter, small and light.
I have the 300W, but only because I prefer working with Copal 3 shutters versus smaller 1's an 0's.
the 300W is brutally sharp, like most Fuji glass. Almost TOO sharp ;). only downside IMO? Its BIG(heavy too)

If the front standard is strong enough to hold the lens, a top hat lensboard might be a good buy.
