Thank you Darr! When will we be able to see the photos from all the groups on the web site?
Thank you Darr! When will we be able to see the photos from all the groups on the web site?
As soon as the last group's packets ship (by 5/14), I will open the gallery for uploads and everyone can then upload their photo. I will also post instructions on how to do that. I will make an announcement as well. Thanks for asking David! :)
Kind regards,
Darr
Sorry for the delay in getting Group #5's packets shipped. I over-estimated the amount of free time I would have this past week--I still have unfinished work that has to get delivered today! Please bear with me as I get it all done. I am hoping it will be tomorrow, Tuesday, May 17 when I can actually get your wonderful packets of creativity shipped. Thank you for your patience!
Kind regards,
Darr

No worries, with the exception of the people who filled in at the last minute, group 5 members are by definition a bunch of slackers. :D I'm looking forward to receiving the prints but am in no hurry.

My Group 5 prints also arrived today and I too had just time for a quick glance before heading out the door for a middle school star party! Wife has already sorted them into "frame and hang on my wall" and "frame and hang on your wall" piles. Thanks, everyone!

Which wall get's my print Mike? Hopefully not the bathroom wall :D
I am receiving USPS confirmations that many of the US shipments have been delivered. It has been a tradition for this exchange to wait until all of the packets have been delivered before everyone begins uploading and sharing their work to the entire world. :)
So, staying with tradition, we will wait until our pal Gari Beet in Northern Ireland receives his packet.
*** Let us know Gari when you get your packet!! ***
Kind regards,

Hi Darr, thanks for the consideration. However in view of the time it may take for the packet to arrive I would be happy for the pics to be posted in the gallery. The last time we did this the prints never actually arrived, get 'em up there I say :p
Regards
Gari

Okay, Ken let us know when you receive your packet. :)

Darr,
Any estimate of when these photos will be on the web page?
Darr,
Any estimate of when these photos will be on the web page?
David,
As soon as KenM receives his print packet I will open the LF Print Exchange site for uploading. It is the responsibility of the photographer to upload their own photo. I will post an announcement with instructions on how to do it when it is time, which should be real soon. :)
Kind regards,
Darr
Don't hold your breath folks - last time it took almost 2 weeks for me to get my package.
In other words, June.
Package is still en-route.
Sorry folks.

There's another thread about a Canada Post strike tomorrow. If your package gets caught up in that, Ken... *Sigh* Let's hope not!
Mike
Well, the package *finally* hit Custom's. Took 2 weeks. That wasn't too bad
Yeah, there's a strike coming - hopefully the package will clear quickly (yeah, right), and get here before they strike....
But don't count on it.

Cheer up, Ken: they say that anticipation is one of the rewards, so you've got more reward than the rest of us put together! It's worth waiting for, I have to tell ya...
If you don't have them by the end of the month, come on down to Bill Scwab's Photostock in northern Michigan. I'll bring my set for you to look at until yours shows up. :)

Well, apparently the strike is going ahead tonite.....and who knows how long it'll last - it could last a day, or it could go on for weeks.
Thanks for the offer Mike, but that's more than a bike-ride to get down to Michigan :D I may try to convince a buddy to host me for a week in San Fran this fall....
I've been informed that the print package has arrived (3 weeks after being sent).

So am I to understand that even though you have been informed of the print package arrival, you haven't actually received the it.
Roger
My daughter received it for me today, while I was at work. I have therefore received, opened, inspected, and enjoyed the contents.
I think I've made myself clear :D

How to upload your photo to the web gallery:
Go to: http://lfgallery.cameraartist.com/
File Size & Copyright © Notice
Your digital image should be no larger than 750 pixels at the longest side.
It is a good idea to put your name on it for copyright purposes -- not necessary, but always better to do.
Note: If you cannot get a digital file of your photo to use, try contacting someone from your group for help.
Thumbnail
Thumbnail size is to be 200 pixels at longest side.
The site's program will automatically make a thumbnail of your image, but you can upload a separate thumbnail if you like.
Photo Info
Remember the "Photo Info Sheet" you filled out?
I save my info in MS Word and copy and paste it on upload, but maybe you prefer to update your info.
Get Going!
Since as a group we tend to be visual, here are some screen captures to help you through the process:
REGISTER if you have not before (you must be registered and logged-in to upload):

I git the package just 2 days ago and only had the time to really go through the photos now. Thanks to everybody involved - I enjoy the diversity of the work.
If I manage to produce some nice photos this year than I will definitely join the 2012 exchange!
The uploading of the photo to the gallery will follow soon.
EDIT: I have troubles uploading the image. After filling in all the information and photos (they do fulfill the requirements) and the security code and clicking SUBMIT the page keeps loading forever and does nothing ...

I had trouble trying to upload the images using Microsoft's Internet Explorer but when I switched to Opera things went smoothly.

Hey Everbody,
I uploaded my file via Firefox and had zero problems. The software for the site is free, but it is tested and if you use it for commercial purposes, it costs $. Here is a link to their support forum if you are having problems as I am sure they can help you:

Is it that time? 2011/2012 Print Exchange?
Wayne
I will post a poll to see if there is enough interest!
Happy New Year Wayne!!
