I'm not understanding things...

Two pieces of sponge attached to 2 plastic sticks for cleaning the jobo expert drums/tanks starting price of $45.00 bucks on ebay... #170587437715

Is this more of whatever the fools will cough up?

Hey, look at it this way.....that's only $22.50 each what a bargain:rolleyes:

Someone will have to have it thinking that it is the only way to go.

I bought something very similar for 0.5 euros each.

These, I bought, are used in kitchens to wash the interior of large bottles, etc.

Jobo also anounces a vacuum pump to open Expert Drum series, I think it's about 80 Euros each, I solved the "problem" with a 15 euros pump, used to fill car tires. I used a cork to put in the extremity of the pump. I use it for 4 years...

Sometimes, I use it to fill my car tires, too...:D

Somewhere on this forum I read about putting the lid under hot water for removal. It works quite well. The lid comes off quite easily that way.

Well, we have a saying in Romanian about this kind of things. I don't know its exact equivalent in English, but it basically says that the fool is not the one who asks a price, but the one who pays it. :)

My sponge rods were included when I bought the drums. FYI I bought my drums when they were each less than 300 :) I have three.

Last I checked (a few months ago) Omega Brandess still had stock on the sponge sticks. l ordered a couple. Can't remember how much but nowhere near $45.

A spare lid for a 2500 series tank just went for close to $50.00
Jobo prices are at a frenzy right now, there is a 3005 at $700.00
Better to chill out for a while and let the panic to get gear settle. :(

4 years ago, I bought a second hand Jobo ATL 2. It came with a lot of tanks, some 2500 and 2800 series and one 3005, one 3010 and two 3063. When I saw the prices of the 3000 series I coudn't believe it. Considering those prices, I bought the ATL for zero euros.

Uh, what is going on there? Jobo still has tanks and spares for their processors in their product list. They survived their insolvency and even were at the last Photokina (sharing their new German distributors booth).

Hereabouts you can get the 3005 for 340€ without taxes new, not cheap compared to past prices, but way off the $700 for a used one. Even if Jobo should not have a US distributor right now, you'd be out of less than $600 including shipping and any duties applicable when ordering one from Germany.

......Uh, what is going on there? .

Stores here in MTL (and I assume elsewhere) are telling people the Jobo train has derailed, get what ever you can, how ever you can, now.

There seems to be a "Jobo Panic" syndrome.
I just need a few odds and ends and I am shocked at some of the prices people are paying.

Speaking of which... Does anyone happen to have an extra set of the plastic "wings" (the film retaining pieces) for 4x5 for the 2509N reel that they would be willing to sell?

Sorry, Natelfo, but that would only happen if a spool broke. Those only come with the reels. :(

As far as "stick with sponge" prices go, they cost about $20 or so new. They weren't a cheap accessory. Yes, they came with the drum, but that drum was pricey to begin with.

You see them on the evil rather often.
