Photostock 2011
June 23 - 26
Harbor Springs/CrossVillage, Michigan

Hello!

After last year's hiatus, it is time to get back on-track with Photostock. The dates are set and it is time to get them out there with hopes people can set aside the time to get together in the north country once again. The plan for this year is to take a step back and make it more like it was originally, a laid back, take it as it comes gathering of people that do what it is we all do. I've missed it and I want to have some fun.

There will still be a few scheduled events and such, but in no way as ambitious as the last couple. There will be a print exchange, a couple spotlighted presentations and maybe even a surprise guest or two, but basically I hope for it to be like the more the relaxing time of the original way back in the summer of 2006. Shooting, good friends and fun stories around the fire.

There will be no cost to attend this year, but I would still like people to register if they are planning to come. It is always good to have an idea of how many might attend. I will also be offering the choice of a paid registration for those that might like to help out a bit financially while receiving an original print as thanks... More about that and more later...

There will soon be a website set-up at the following link. You can check back and register once it becomes operational.

Thanks! Hoping some of you LF'ers can bring out the big guns and join us this summer!

Is there anywhere we intrepid travellers could camp ?

As Mohamed couldn't make Cornwall, maybe the Mountains could make the shore of a little Lake :)

Yes, there will be limited, rustic camping on my property as well as several other options. There are also summer rentals available as well that could house several at a time. There will be more information in the website soon.

As in years past, the Birchwood Inn will be the center of activities. They are ready to take registrations as we speak. Please mention the event when booking your rooms.

Looking forward to seeing all who can make it!

All best, Bill

PS... @Ian.... Still hoping to make it to your side!

If it was in Detroit I would seriously consider it, as I have lots of family in Detroit.

Perhaps...

the charm of the get together is the fact that it is removed from detroit...

Ian, plenty of places to camp near Photostock..Hope to see you there. Also apologies about Cornwall. I could not rally enough interest from the previous US parties during2011 and as it was, Delta airlines chose to hose me out of a grand for the ticket regardless of due to Iceland Volcano or not.... So was not willing to lose anymore money and time for nought.

Hi All,
Sorry for the delay on the Website. It is now fully operational and registrations are now being accepted.

As for camping, Petoskey State Park is fairly close and very nice. A group of people are already organizing a group there, I believe. There is more information and links to the park in the "Lodging" section of the website.

@Kirk - You fly to Detroit and I'll drive you the rest of the way! It would be really good to see you again.

Yes. We came up sunday. It's cold and wet right now. Non-stop wind too. I'm hoping to get some fishing in at least.
