Welcome to group therapy! :) And congratulations on being the first new member to post at the New Members forum in 2011! Have you picked out a camera yet, or are you still shopping around?

So refreshing to hear rather than the usual "moving from film to digital" ...
Welcome aboard!

Thanks for the welcome. As for the name, well the wife keeps telling me I'm not of this earth most of the time, so its kind of stuck.
Cheers,
Mart

Once you decide on the general type of camera (field, studio, press) they're all very similar; bellows, movements, lensboards, etc. There's not much to 'em.

View cameras are actually very cheap. Lenses are cheap, too. The probability that you can tell from a print the difference between bargain basement and OMG-is-that-plated-in-gold lenses isn't very high.

Thanks for the welcome. I have just acquired, well won the biding for a S&K 4 x 5 view camera. I'll know more when I pick it up, but its complete with lens etc and some expired film. Now the learning begins!!
