I know that it's somewhere in the archives, but I don't seem to be able to find it.
Thanks.

Mine's about 12.5 pounds with the extra rail and tripod block, no lens. The Seneca Improved is the lightest of the cheap old 8x10's; they're usually around ten pounds.

I was surprised to learn that the 2D is lighter than a Deardorff, which weighs 14 lbs., or at least mine does.

Bill, I just wanted to add that my 2D weighs 9lb 13oz and 10lb 9oz without the back rail and w/o and w/ the tripod block, respectively.

When hiking distances of two miles or more one-way (at altitude), I've often left the back rail behind, along with lenses I know I won't be using--stripping down the pack by even 2-5 pounds seems to make a huge difference.

I don't think that's typical of Deardorffs, I had two and they both were 12 pounds and a few ounces, which is the weight I usually see mentioned for them.
