Does anyone know the weight and image circle of the Nikkor 105mm f/3.5 M lens? D oes anyone have hands-on experience with this lens? Thanks for your input.

I must have hit the large format jackpot today!

This is the second post I can answer.

I own one of these lenses. I bought it new in 1985. Its' performance is remarkable when used on 6x9 in the field, and deteriorates rapidly if you try it on anything else.

I have found it to be sharp across all its' f stops and from infinity to about life size. It's not the best lens for macro work and doesn't really cover enough for 6x12 or longer.

While I don't have a scale here, I do remember that at the time I bought it, it was the lightest lens I could find with press focus and good coating.

This lens was discussed several months ago on this forum. Currently the question "105mm f3.5 nikor-m" is sorted under the link "Uncategorized". The current URL is http://www.greenspun.com/bboard/q-and-a-fetch-msg.tcl?msg_id=007nfF

Nikon listed the weight as 170 g. I measure 173 g without the lenscaps.
