I am quite new to LF photography. I have started shooting with 35mm film about 7 years ago, then I got a digital camera, but I've always preferred film, so I sold it and bought medium format bronica. Mainly I shoot with it.

But I really enjoy taking portraits, and I've got a weakness for shallow DOF, so I got interested in LF. Bought my first 4x5 camera about a year ago. It's a Cambo sc2 with 2 fujinon lenses- 135mm f5.6 and 75mm f8. I don't use it often, but I would really like to get into large format photography and use it more fore portraits. Currently I am interested in making my own bag bellows(can't find them for a reasonable price) and getting a nice, cheap 210mm lens for portraits. I find this forum very helpful so I think it's a good place to start learning deeper about large format photography.

Currently I don't have a scanner that could scan 4x5 negatives, so I scan them in halves and stitch them in post processing, so the quality is poor. And my only enlarger only goes up to 6x6 negatives, so I only wetprint my medium format pictures.

ShOo,

You can contact print your LF negatives, and scan the prints for web display; that's what I do, though not very well. I love portraits, as well. I've recently been experimenting with artificial lighting, and having a great time! I enjoy learning new things, and I have a lot to learn about artificial lighting. Welcome, and enjoy!

Welcome to group therepy! :) Bag bellows for Cambo 4x5's can often be found very cheaply on eBay...I got one and a short rail for under $50.00.

KEH in the US has been a good source for large format stuff. I looked and found a bag bellows for $70. I bought my present semi modern 1960's 210mm Rodenstock Ysarex for less than $60 too. At that time they had a selection of 210mm lenses for less than $100. None that cheap right now, but keep looking and you might find. No idea what shipping and import duties might mean for you though.

Thank you for suggestions, I know keh. I've bought many times from them, just the shipping prices seems random. I payed 6$ for shipping the film back for my bronica, and I payed 14$ for shipping two lens caps.

And I am looking almost every day for new arrivals, hoping there will be a 210mm lens. As for longer lenses, they're more expensive and I am not sure if I can afford one, since my cambo isn't my main camera(so far).
