I know the general question of repairing bellows has been frequently asked on this forum, but not with a UK or european source of materials.

Can anyone recommend a source of tape, in the UK, for repairing an inch long rip in a set of bellows. If this tape would do second duty replacing the hinge on film holders so much the better.

Tesa makes a wide range of very sticky tapes up to 5cm wide, which should be available at your nearest well stocked building suppliers. A single repair or two won't influence the collapsed thickness of the bellows much. I have always used the material reinforced type.
You might want to consider INTERNAL taping rather than external taping which looks so ugly. The inside will need cleaning in the area - or priming - as the surface will be dusty.
I do not own shares in Tesa etc. etc.

I used some bookbinding tape (thin, cloth, bloody strong) to re-hinge some film holders. I would assume it is light tight enough for bellows repairs. Can be cut into smaller strips, and isn't as thick as traditional gaffer tape.

You could try these people for bookbinding tape:

and this for repairing pinholes in bellows - cloth shutters etc:

I found these urls on different forums and kept them in my bookmarks just in case. I have only purchased the liquid electrical tape - a satisfactory transaction.

Hope this is useful

Bookbinders tape works great for film holders and as long as you're not trying to rebuild a bellows with it you should be fine.
