Has anyone tried to do something like that? To attach a 4x5 polaroid holder (the one for 667 or fuji fp100) to an old folding camera? Looking at prices for 185-195 or converted pathfinders... Any experiences?
Or otherway: to upgrade an automatic model (150 or 210 and others) - maybe replace the original lens with something better, and with mechanical shutter?

Did a conversion on a 95B a few years back to take the fuji 100B/C packs. Was pretty simple but did take a while to get the film plane adjusted as I recall. Fun to do and as always I thought I would use the camera often. I don't. In fact, I ran 2 packs through it and now it sits. One thing I remember is just how thick the aluminum body was. Very solid unit. I think I got the 95B for $10 at the time off fleabay.
