A heads-up for those that are, or will be in Lugano, Switzerland, some time before February 2011: there are two photographic exhibitions that promise to be very interesting.
Araki, Love and Death (http://www.nipponlugano.ch/en/araki/index.html) is a big retrospective of his whole career.
Yet even more interesting is the Ineffable Perfection Japan’s Photography 1860 - 1910 (http://www.nipponlugano.ch/en/ineffable-perfection/index.html) exhibition: it is the biggest ever exhibition of hand-coloured albumen prints that were the big rage in Japan's late 19th century export products to Europe… Some pics from the exhibition here (http://www.clickblog.it/galleria/ineffabile-perfezione-la-fotografia-del-giappone-1860-1910/) (Italian only, sorry).
