View Full Version : Hey from east TN
Hey all I'm Noah and have been photographing for a few years. Took a 4x5 class a few semesters ago and now I've moved up to the 8x10. Currently using an old kodak 2D with a 210 f/9 Schneider. Just developed my first negatives this morning and they were amazing. I'm looking into buying a deardorff or something of the sort eventually, but for now I'm using the 2D. I'd seen this site a few times and have frequented it often so I decided to join tonight. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Greetings from Nashville.
What school are you attending? I'm curious as to where you found a "4x5 class"... not sure if it's for film or digital backs, but either way, perspective control is a good thing to see still being taught.
If you're shooting color, the next couple of weeks will be prime time when the leaves turn. They're starting here, but I'm hoping for some time at Falls Creek Falls next weekend to enjoy and document the autumn colors.

p.s. Forget the Deardorff for now and spend your money on film. The 2D will do most of what you need it to do (or maybe all, depending on usage), and has 5x7 and 4x5 reducer backs available if you look around for them.
Chris, I go to East Tennessee State University in Johnson City and am a photography major there. I hadn't thought about color yet, a little too expensive for my budget now. Loving the 8x10 though, perfect size.

Hi Noah,
I'm in Knoxville, but I am just a lowly 4x5 shooter :)
