Just finished up a 12" x 15" wet plate camera to go to Germany. It has rise/fall, swing and tilt on rear standard. Also, an acrylic GG to help save on weight. More images can be seen by hunting down the 12x15 link on my site. http://www.tyguillory.com

Hey Ty

Very nice. Really like the design. Reminds me a little of a R.O.C. Favorite . The rear lilt is center on yours though.

Really pretty Terrific.

Peace
Louis

Nice and simple. Looks like a Century Studio after a long diet. How do you get the central pivot to lock firmly?

Looks beautiful. Is that friction focus?

"Looks like a Century Studio...." Stephen, what a horrible thing to say. Mind your manners. Just joking. The locking and tilting hardware is by designs I drew up and have a machine shop do the brasswork for me. The "lock" is on the right side.

sully75, the focus is simple push pull with a locking knob on the rear.

Are there standard sizes for wet plate cameras, and does this camera fit the standard? The reason I ask, is because it's not 11x14, etc.

By the way, nice looking camera!

Jon, lots of guys go by historical sizes and sizes stamped on lenses. The Dallmeyer catalog (1870s) list their lenses by size; 10x8, 12x10, 15x12, 18x16, 22x20. Also, many guys figure the size of camera by proportions; multiples for enlargement purposes. The next camera I have to make is an 11x14.

Thanks for the information. I have a Caltar II-N f5.6 300mm that will cover 10x12. I've always wanted to try dry plate. Maybe if I win the lotto.....

doesn't look like the back rotates,,?

Ty G

Trust me, the back does swing and also tilt.

Swing and tilt are not rotating. Rotating is changing the film holder from landscape to portrait and back.

That miniature coca cola can is just too cute for words. Where did you find one that small?

Thanks for the clarification, and sorry Steve. The plateholder only goes on one way, but the inserts inside the holder rotate for portrait/landscape.
