I'm not sure how many people here shoot Kodak Portra 400, but Kodak made a big announcement today:

The short story is that they're phasing out Portra 400 NC & VC in favor of a single Portra 400 film that's somewhere in the middle in terms of color saturation and contrast.

Not the worst news in the world, I guess. I scan my film so I'll probably be able to get similar results from the new film with a few adjustments to my process.

The really bad news is no more Portra 400 in 8x10. It's 4x5 and smaller from now on.

I shoot 4x5 but have always had dreams of getting an 8x10 setup, I don't know if that's practical anymore. Do you think they'll do custom orders? I'm sure the ULF people have been dealing with this for years, I'd love to know what your experience has been.
