Dose anybody have instructions for a Sinar copal shutter

Its the later type and apparently goes from 5.6-45 dependant on lens
The scale slides out so I guess that there may be an option to get a different scale

the shutter dose not seem to work but i'm not sure
I have the long Sinar cable release but pressing it dose nothing
there is a little red spike on the top what is that for ?

thanks for any advice

If the shutter seems to jam, because there's no lens present, or it is in an intermediate state, try setting the aperture to wide open, namely f/5.6

That usually solves the problem for me, especially if I mount a normal non-shutter lens board. Some times, they fit on the camera, but interfere with those little red items which control the opening and closing of the shutter. Opening the aperture setting solves the problem.

Here's a copy of the instruction manual: http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info/sinar_2.html

The shutter can be locked in the open position - which is precaution against leaf damage in transport. If you read the instructions you can see how you unlock it. Raising the side cocking lever should release the red coloured 1/4" tab which should jump out (perhaps with little gentle assistance?) about 4mm and the leaves should close at the same time. Pushing in the red tab makes it go back to the locked position.

thanks steve

the shutter dose seem to be locked open
I could not see a referance to this feature in the link ken sent

Please could you explain

presently the little red pin is up and the shutter is open
I cant push the pin down

Hopefully I am missing something

thanks

The little red pin is just an indicator - not a control item. The cocking lever and the red tab are on the side.

thank for all the advice
took it apart and found that it needed a clean when set to B

next question is how to set up DBM lens boards
so that 22 on one lens gives the same exposure as the next at 22
I have some spare boards that have scales that corpspond numberwise
but I have no idea what lens they came from

thanks again

With respect to boards, you can get some help from George Brown whose name on eBay is apogeebee

He has mounted several lenses for me into Sinar DB boards, and has helped me adjust one of them, via email.
