Yep, you read it right, seven photos by yours truly in the July/August 2010 issue of View Camera (mailing 8/23).

They did a nice layout and the repro is good too ;-) Thanks Steve!

OK I gotta warn you. It's G-rated.

Then these images MUST be by a different Frank Petronio than the guy that hangs out on the LF forum.....kind of like Earl and Ansel....

Congrats Frank!

Indeed, thanks to Steve. It is refreshing to see that his contributions to the large format community are acknowledged, without the negative rhetoric of past years.

And to you Frank, of course, a hearty congratulations!

Which reminds me to renew my subscription. It should be good until December so I'm looking forward to seeing Franks work in the July/August issue and I received a Renewal Notice card from them (and Lensworks) a few weeks back so I'm paying my dues to both this week.

To echo a sentiment hinted at above, Steve should be a member of this forum. Many members, including QT, owe him and his magazine a lot.

Who the hell is this frank guy????
I look forward to getting a copy up here in western Canada and have to thank Frank
and the folks like him that encourage me to enjoy large format photography... in fact,
I am waiting for a Fatif 8x10 to arrive next week and Frank, your positive comments influenced my decision to give the big sheets a try. I am organizing a Photography show for the month of February in Canmore, Alberta... two weeks of film shots and two weeks of the other stuff. It is part of the Exposure 2011 celebration of photography in Calgary, Banff and Canmore.... a wonderful series of exhibitions, lectures and guest speakers. Stay tuned for more information and maybe i can get Frank to lend us a print to put in the film show.....
Congratulations, Richard Brown

And if they'd been *really* on to it they would have shrink wrapped it ;) ... And yes, I'd also like to say how pleased I am that your work's being covered -- will have to renew my sub -- and also to thank you for helping a good number of us stick at it ...

Kind regards, Richard

I just received my July/August copy of View Camera. 7 Photographs and text by Frank Petronio is an inspiration for anyone using the large format. What a strong selection/style. Wonderful, an inspiration.

Just saw this at B&N yesterday -- congratulations, Frank! It was great to see your images at better than web resolution, but even better to read the text you wrote and get some insight about your process and background. Well done!

Hi Frank,

Just picked up my copy after reading this posting...

Nice images... especially the one titled, "Cris, East Aurora, NY"

Way to go!

Cheers

PS: Must also say that the images by Dr. Mark Nowaczynski were quite moving!

I finally found a copy at Borders!
Congrats Frank, your story and work are the highlight. Superb as expected!
I think this is the best issue of VC I've seen. Full of unique work.

Micheal Shindler's article on wetplate/tintype makes me want to give it a try.
Chris McCaw's work is extraordinary.
