I have a Magestic tripod that I would like to put either on a dolly or get casters for. Any DIY folks out there ever do anything like this based on materials one can buy at Home Depot?

thanx

I have not tried it, but it might be possible to put the tripod on one of those wooden dollies with casters that are used to move furniture and applicances.

Cheaper than buying the hardware is going with one of these...

I've got one under a surveyors tripod with majestic head supporting a Devere 8x10 and it works a treat. Keeps those nasty spikes off the timber floors and makes composing a pleasure.

No way man! I'm too cheap.

I went to Lowes today and found this (http://www.lowes.com/pd_66999-255-4262599NN_0_?productId=3037455&Ntt=casters&Ntk=i_products&pl=1&currentURL=/pl__0__s?Ntk=i_products$rpp=15$No=30$Ntt=casters$identifier=). I put this on two legs of my tripod and left one w/o wheels. I just pick up that leg and move it around. I did that to make sure It didn't move around accidently because there are no breaks on these casters. I even picked up four caster "cups" that slide right under the casters to make sure the tripod stays once it's put. Total cost: $12.75.

It works like a charm.
