I run a search here to see of there is coverage for framing and matting large artwork. While there's some, I was wondering if I could put it into frame.

The problems I foresee at this point are:

Weight. - Obviously, frame would be heavy. I will use Plexiglas instead of the glass.

Size of the frame - I intend to frame it in 40x78 frame (8 inch borders, bottom one 10 inches).

Matte board - This is the biggest problem. 40x60 inches is the biggest I could find to buy in Vancouver. How do I frame it? Are there bigger matte boards than 40x60? If not, how do I make one so is aesthetically pleasing and not obtruding?

Is it doable? Or is it stupid?

Optically center on diabond and set back from the glass looks very nice
Thicker plexi for monster frames
Brace the frame from the back
You can get 48 x 96 inch matt board if you do not like the diabond approach
