Shutter cleanings in Calgary

I picked up seven lenses in a fairly good deal, but pretty much all of the shutters are off by a stop or so, and at least one is just sticky. Most are Copals and at least one is a Compur. Where in Calgary could I have them repaired?

I do not remember their name but the small camera shop on 17th SW did my 90 Angulon. Good job but not as inexpensive as some in the States say they pay. They also sells some used cameras but mostly it is or at least was a processing place. Very small on the north side of the street but that is about as close as I can come up. Might be a family run business

I would suggest that you stop in and speak to someone at The Camera Store or Vistek Cameras... they may know of someone.

Alternatively, you can ship your gear out to a very competent technician here in Vancouver by the name of Horst Wenzel. He's the guy that many local pros use for their equipment. PM me and I'll be happy to pass along his telephone number.

He has done quite a few repairs for me and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending him!

The Chinese fellow had moved to Vancouver couple years ago. Rob in The Camer Store told me that a guy works at the Science Center will do the job. You just drop your lenes at Camera Store and they will take care with them.

I do shutter cleanings in Calgary. You can PM or e-mail me for details. (Yes I did work at the science centre at one time!) And yes - you should leave them at the Camera Store. Not all of the staff there may know the service is offered because it is now so seldom asked for, but Peter Jeune, Julian, Susan or Rob will take the order and get them to me.
