Sick Epson Precision 2450 Photo Scanner

The scanner comes with a transportation lock--a knob that locks the mechanism for shpping. Mine is stuck in the locked position, which makes the scannr unuseable. Does anybody know how to deal with this problem?

IHave a 2450, but the lock works OK. I some Googling re: your problem and the consensus seemed to be to force it.

Open up the case and correct the problem. Don't force it and break it. The underside of the glass needs to be cleaned after this much time anyway. Look at the diagrams here:
