I just bought a Linhof Tech V. The camera works great except for a couple of things:

1. The rangefinder seems to work OK except the horizontal alignment is not quite right. Is this user adjustable and if so, how?

2. What kind of flash mounts on the Linhof? What is recommended?

No, that is a service center adjustment and on a camera that old that is a good sign that it needs a professional CLA to ensure proper service. As for flash, what type? Shoe mount or potato masher? Shoe mount can go on the accessory shoe on top of the camera if you do not use a Multifocus Finder. Otherwise you would use a flash bracket. A handle mount slides on to the clip on the Rangefinder housing but to do that you would need to find a Jones Encircling bracket. Those were discontinued by their manufacturer, Veach, several years ago and there are no new ones.

On further examination it seems like the rangefinder patch is just extremely sensitive to eye placement. If your eye is not centered it will appear a bit out of alignment.

Did Linhof ever manufacture their own flash? Is there any way to use a Graflite type flash easily?

Yes, the Graflite is a potato masher and needs the Jones bracket.
